To make sure that you don't miss important information, please be sure that the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) has your current address, phone number, and email address so that DHCF knows where to send your renewal letter. Update your information at districtdirect.dc.gov.

There are no co-pays for MedStar Family Choice DC medicines listed on our formulary (Covered Prescription Medications). Some medicines require prior approval, or that you meet rules like being a certain age or having a certain condition. Changes to our formulary are posted here on this pharmacy page of our website before they take effect.

If you are currently taking a medication that is not covered by MedStar Family Choice DC, you should speak with your doctor about changing to a similar medication that is on the formulary (Covered Prescription Medications). If your medication is not on the formulary and your doctor believes it is medically necessary, he or she will need to call our Prior Authorization Department at 202-363-4348 for approval.
