Discrimination is Against the Law

MedStar Family Choice District of Columbia (“We”) complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, pregnancy or related conditions, sex, sex characteristics including intersex traits, sexual orientation, sex stereotypes, marital status, gender, gender identity or expression, language, ability to pay, or socioeconomic status. MedStar Family Choice District of Columbia does not exclude people or treat them less favorably because of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, pregnancy or related conditions, sex, sex characteristics including intersex traits, sexual orientation, sex stereotypes, marital status, gender, gender identity or expression, language, ability to pay, or socioeconomic status.

We provide reasonable modifications and free appropriate auxiliary aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as:

  • Qualified sign language interpreters
  • Written information in other formats (e.g., large print, audio, accessible electronic, other)

We provide free language services to those whose primary language is not English, such as:

  • Qualified interpreters
  • Information written in other languages

We have a grievance procedure to resolve complaints alleging discrimination. Enrollee Services or the Section 1557 Coordinator can help you file a grievance. If you believe we have failed to provide these services or discriminated in another way, you can file a grievance in the following ways:
