To make sure that you don't miss important information, please be sure that the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) has your current address, phone number, and email address so that DHCF knows where to send your renewal letter. Update your information at districtdirect.dc.gov.

MedStar Family Choice District of Columbia offers many benefits for Enrollees. The benefits listed here are for both DC Healthy Families and DC Healthcare Alliance. Read your Enrollee Handbook, DC Healthy Families Benefits or DC Healthcare Alliance Benefits, to learn more details about your plan’s benefits, services, rights, responsibilities, and more!

Healthcare services and benefits covered by MedStar Family Choice DC are listed in your Enrollee Handbook. For some benefits, you must be a certain age or have a certain need for the service. MedStar Family Choice DC will not charge you for any healthcare services on the list in your Enrollee Handbook if you go to a network provider or hospital. If you have questions about covered health care and how to access services, call Enrollee Services at 888-404-3549.

Enrollee Portal

The Enrollee Portal allows Enrollees to change their doctor (primary care provider), request a new or replacement ID card, and view claims and authorizations.

Nurse Advice Line

If you are feeling sick and/or need medical advice, call the free Nurse Advice Line at 855-798-3540. Registered nurses are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year to answer your healthcare questions and assess your symptoms. Nurses can help you decide whether to call your doctor, go to urgent care, visit the ER, or treat your symptoms at home. All calls are answered live.

For medical emergencies, call 911.


Transportation

Transportation services are provided by Access2Care. If you need transportation for a medical appointment, it can be scheduled 24/7 by calling
866-201-9974. Transportation must be scheduled at least three business days before a regular appointment. It must be scheduled at least one business day before an urgent or well-child or dental screening appointment. For more information click here for English, Spanish, and Amharic
